Be careful how you treat your clients. Never dismiss a potential client because you think they can’t afford a home or don’t understand what they really need. As the real estate agent, it is your job to teach them what they need to know and walk them through the process of buying or selling. If your attitude comes off as condescending, people will pick up on it and they will find another agent. Pay attention to clients, treat them with respect, and take the time to listen to their needs. This will ensure that you can have a successful business without developing a bad reputation.


Don’t forget to ask your clients for referrals and testimonials. A happy client is much more likely to give you a glowing testimonial and to refer friends or family to you. Most of the time you will not even have to ask for a testimonial. As long as you keep clients happy you will be able to rely on word of mouth advertising. This is one of the most powerful and effective forms of marketing that you can do.
